Our roots trace back to the beginnings of the Finnish plywood manufacturing in the 1910s, and for more than a century, we have been continuously refining our expertise to create high-quality plywood and veneer products for global markets.

WISA® birch and spruce plywood are trusted for demanding applications, from commercial vehicle flooring and LNG shipbuilding to parquet flooring in homes as well as construction and industrial projects across Europe and beyond.

We serve demanding applications that require, among other things, strength, precision, and consistent quality. Our offering is built on two strategic product lines, hardwood (birch) and softwood (spruce) plywood and veneer, which means our customers can rely on a single partner for both. Our focused portfolio is the result of decades of development, shaped product by product in close collaboration with the customers who use it.

How we do it

WISA is built on close customer partnerships. We stay close to our customers, learn how they work and develop products alongside them. The strength of this approach is reflected in our results: our average customer retention rate over the past ten years is 99%. With seven sales offices and a Europe-wide warehousing network, we ensure reliable and fast deliveries to our customers.

Wood is a valuable raw material and we treat it with respect. We source our wood mainly from European sources in accordance with chain-of-custody systems fulfilling the requirements of FSC and PEFC standards, with full traceability throughout the supply chain. Plywood products store carbon captured by the tree during its growth and retain it throughout the product's service life. The environmental performance of our products is documented in third-party verified environmental product declarations, giving our customers transparency to the environmental impact of our products.

Through our continuous research and development, we develop products with more bio-based raw materials and a lower carbon footprint. We are actively seeking new ways to replace fossil-based raw materials in our products.
